Geishas have a beautiful mystery surrounding them and probably that is why they are so intriguing.
Many people mistaken the geishas for ladies of pleasure. Geisha literally means 'artisan' or 'cultivated person'. Geishas are the artisans and entertainers of traditional Japan. They sing, dance and perform for an audience. In Japan you can even visit a special tea ceremonie hosted by a geisha.
